If you are in the middle of designing your kitchen and you dream of installing an island where you can cook, stay tuned to this article because here are some ideas from our distributors. Don't miss out on the details because it has been very difficult for us to choose just three.

    Nivel 2 Muebles

    Pure calm

This kitchen, designed by the architecture and interior design studio NOBO and made by our distributor Nivel 2 Muebles, could not be missing in our top three.

We have to admit that this project won us over from day one. The oak of our Vera model in matt sail finish is the protagonist of the whole room and shines with its own light thanks to the delicate work of interior design and the combination of materials.

Although it is not an open concept design, the room has enough space for a large island that doubles as a kitchen area and bar for breakfast, lunch and informal dinners, perfect for everyday use.

The island has been covered with the same material as for the worktops, in cream and with a finish halfway between fine micro-cement and stucco, with a very natural appearance. This naturalness is reinforced by the choice of stools, handcrafted in rattan.

The visual noise in this kitchen is practically non-existent, which is why it has been decided to install a ceiling-mounted hood that goes completely unnoticed.

    Practical and bright

The key to good design is to combine form and function. And in the case of kitchens, both concepts have to be adapted, of course, to the tastes and needs of the people who are going to live there every day.

A great example of this is this project by our Portuguese distributor Casa Design Cozinhas e Interiores. It is a large L-shaped kitchen with a central island in which we wanted to maximise (even more) natural light. That is why we have opted for the colour white in most of the materials used.

However, to give a touch of warmth and an organic appearance, some materials with different textures have been introduced. This is the case of the wall units that make up the bridge over the water area, in an oak effect finish (with our Amazonas model). And also that of the white Calacatta marble effect cladding, which we can see on the worktop and on the impressive island.

This element has several functions. On the one hand, it serves as a cooking area with the installation of a ceramic hob (and once again, a hood in the ceiling); as a breakfast bar or light snack bar and as a wine cellar.

    i9 cozinhas

    New neutrals

We stay in the neighbouring country to show you one of the recent projects of our distributor i9 cozinhas that we have liked the most.

In this case, we find a parallel distribution. In one of the shelves we find a large storage area for food and utensils, as well as the water area. On the other, an impressive island where we again find the cooking/eating combo.

However, in this example, the two areas are clearly differentiated. On the one hand we have a combination of base units on which the hob is installed and, on the other, an attached bar that serves as a dining table (not just a bar as in the previous projects).

If there is one thing that makes this kitchen stand out, it is the use of the mocha colour (in our Fénix model), which has undoubtedly become one of the new "neutral colours" in its own right. Combined with our Amazonas model, with an oak effect, it couldn't be better.
