Linear white kitchen with laminate finish

This project, signed by our distributor Mobles Zamora, is an example of how minimalism, properly interpreted, is the best way to integrate a kitchen into a unique space. This kitchen is part of a comprehensive refurbishment project of a 1936 building in Barcelona by the MZAM architecture studio, in which it was essential to respect the original character of the building. But adapting it to the present, of course. For this reason, the aim was to highlight the vaulted brick ceiling (known as "volta catalana", as it is a traditional type of construction in this area).

In some of the walls we can see traces of the original brick construction, but they have been painted white to better adapt it to the atmosphere we wanted to achieve. Following this intention, the kitchen had to function as a large blank canvas (very large, as it occupies a large part of the open concept room in which the living room is also located). For this reason, it has been laid out in a linear fashion on one of the walls.

From left to right, we find a set of floor-to-ceiling units that house the refrigerator, storage and the oven and microwave column. Behind it, we continue with a line of base units in which the sink, the dishwasher and the ceramic hob have been placed, as well as plenty of storage space. Above this area, we only find the extractor hood, no wall units.

The choice of colour was clear: matt white. To take simplicity even further, all the electrical appliances (except for the oven and microwave) have been panelled and we have opted for our Berlin laminate model with a white gola handle.

To give a touch of character, in addition to the white painted exposed brick wall, we have chosen to install hydraulic style paving in front of the kitchen. As it is different from the rest of the house, it serves to delimit the areas. To mark them out even more and integrate with the decoration of the whole room, a mini-breakfast bar with a wooden finish has been installed.
