Black and wood kitchen with island in laminate finish
Opting for black in the kitchen furniture can be a little dizzying... until you see projects like this one! Made by our Extremadura distributor Nivel 2 Muebles, it is a clear example of how black kitchens can be welcoming and luminous. Do you want to know how they have achieved this? Read on and discover their design secrets.
Let's start by analysing the space. This one is located in a square room that opens onto the garden, which allows natural light to enter. To increase it, our distributor decided to leave the room semi-open to the living room by installing a large glass window with black metal frames.
To continue reflecting the natural light, the walls are painted in white and a cream tone has been chosen for the floor. On this large white canvas, the colour black was a safe bet. And so it was. Our Berlin model laminated in this colour is present in all the furniture of this kitchen with island. In order to achieve a clean, minimalist look, no handles were used. Thus, for the base units, direct handles with black gola profile have been used and, for the wall units, the Tip-On opening system has been used (you only have to press lightly to open the door).
Similarly, all the appliances that have been integrated into the furniture (fridge, hob, oven and microwave...), as well as the sink and tap, are black. Even the decorative pieces and small appliances are black!
what is the key to make this kitchen cosy and not dark at all? The first key is found in the centre of the large set of furniture that dominates the room: an open breakfast bar made with our Alabama model, with an oak wood effect. On the island we see this same model creating a niche to break with the uniformity that might otherwise be too forceful. The extra touch of warmth is provided by the island worktop, in brown tones. Undoubtedly, a great success.
