There are projects that you fall in love with at first sight. And then there are those that stand the test of time, gaining depth with every detail that is discovered. The kitchen designed by MOTTA Cucine that we are going to show you in detail in this article undoubtedly belongs to this second group.
Our French distributor has managed to generate a space that radiates warmth, serenity and balance; that knows how to play with materials, volumes and light to create something more than a place to cook: a real living space.
This project combines the welcoming character of natural wood with the sobriety of neutral tones.
Wood that embraces
The oak of the Quebec model provides the visual basis for the project. Its smooth fronts and the clean lines of its frame give a unified vision to the whole.
The natural grain of the wood (warm, organic) introduces texture and depth without the need for ornamentation.
Thanks to the handle integrated into the front of this model, we manage to maintain the visual cleanliness of the design, letting the material speak for itself.
Combining neutral tones
The mocha-coloured laminate with a matt finish adds a note of calm and lightness.
In this project, MOTTA Cucine has used it on the wall units to create a bridge over the work area.
Thanks to the absence of handles on these units (they open by touch), their matt finish and silky feel, these modules become the perfect counterpoint to the oak. They do not seek to stand out, but to reinforce the sense of balance.
It is a clever gesture that breaks the linearity and adds personality to the whole.
A layout designed for the rhythm of daily life
In this kitchen, a parallel layout has been chosen within an open-plan space, ideal for optimising the work flow and favouring visual amplitude.
To one side, and spread out on one of the walls of this room, we find the main shelf. This houses everything necessary for storing and preparing food: ceramic hob, oven and microwave in a tall unit, refrigerator, sink, dishwasher, etc..
All the integrated appliances, including the extractor hood, are perfectly incorporated into the furniture, which reinforces the idea of visual cleanliness and avoids interruptions in the design line. Everything has been designed so that the kitchen functions without losing its aesthetic essence.
In front of it, they have installed a central island dedicated to storage and where stools will look great to use as an informal dining area.
Matching worktop
The worktop, in a light, neutral tone, blends in perfectly with the kitchen environment. It stands out especially on the island, where it has been installed with curved corners to give fluidity to the design and minimise the risk of small accidents.
The same material has been used as wall cladding, thus maintaining aesthetic cohesion without cluttering the space.
The golden detail: elegance without stridency
One of the most surprising - and most successful - elements in this kitchen is the choice of a gold tap fitting, which adds a touch of sophistication and light. In a setting of warm, neutral tones, the gold acts as a little sparkle, an elegant accent that elevates the whole without breaking its harmony.
It is a subtle but very effective detail: it shows that luxury is not at odds with sobriety, and that elegance can appear in the most restrained gestures.
