They will end up damaging the paint or varnish and, hence, affecting the colour. And – naturally – do not use scouring pads or utensils that could scratch surfaces.

The best option is to use damp microfibre cloths (with warm water) and neutral soap. Remember to always dry them after use to remove soap and wetness.

The best tricks for removing grease

Grease is the big enemy of our kitchens! But chemical degreasing products are also enemies. So… What is the solution? Homemade and natural remedies will help you a lot more than you may think.

White vinegar is one of the best known. And not in vain! It is very effective against grease and is also an excellent disinfectant.

If you don’t like the smell of vinegar, you could try making your own grease remover: mix one part of baking soda, two parts warm water and the juice from one lemon. Ready!!

Photo: Unsplash

Stop your furniture from turning yellow

White kitchen furnishings tend to lose their original colour over time. To prevent this from happening, it’s better to prevent than cure. One of the reasons why furniture (whether they are painted wood or lacquered) turn yellow is the sun. Just get good curtains or roller blinds that let light through, but protect from direct sunlight. And that will also give you an excellent opportunity to add some décor to the room!

Do you know what another guilty party is? Cooking itself. When cooking, small particles of foods and oils spread through the kitchen as steam that sticks to your furniture. The solution couldn’t be easier: always turn on the extractor fan when cooking.

Do you want to add a touch of extra whiteness and shine to your lacquered furniture? Try hydrogen peroxide and liquid Vaseline. They will shine like new!

Photo: Unsplash

Make your kitchen sink shiny white

White sinks are increasingly more frequent. They add elegance and contribute hugely to the feeling of luminosity in a kitchen. However, they do have one big disadvantage: they stain very easily. Baking soda and lemon juice are also highly effective for sinks. If you still have stubborn stains you can’t remove, apply lemon directly to them. You can also put kitchen roll soaked in bleach along the bottom and sides.
