If you follow us on our social networks or regularly read our blog, you will be familiar with some of the names of our kitchen furniture models, such as Berlin, Vitoria or Fenix. However... What do you know about them?

So that you can get to know our catalogue a little better (spoiler: it is quite extensive) and make a good decision when it comes to choosing your furniture, we have prepared a series of three articles, one for each material with which we manufacture them: wood, lacquered and laminated.

    Wood

We start with our fronts made of wood, a material that brings warmth to the kitchen and never goes out of fashion. And thank goodness, because it is very durable and resistant.

Being a natural material, each front is unique and exclusiveas both the grain and the knots are different in each piece.

We work with two types of wood: walnut and oakwhich, as we will see later, can be varnished in different tones. In addition, our oak models can be lacquered in a wide variety of colours. Read on and we will explain it to you!

    Walnut

If you are looking for an elegant look to your kitchen, walnut is undoubtedly the wood for you. It is a wood that is highly prized for its beauty, with shades ranging from light brown to chocolate, with dark streaks that border on black.

It is a wood of high density and with a high level of resistance to changes in temperature and humidity; characteristics that make it a great option if you are looking for kitchen furniture with a solid, sophisticated and quality appearance.

At OB Cocinas we have four models made of walnut: Antas, Montreal, Argel and Padova. Let's see the particularities of each one.

Our Antas and Montreal models are very similar, as in both the direction of the grain is vertical and both have a thin frame around the edge. The difference lies in the type of opening. While Antas does not have a built-in opening system, a slight recess in the top of the Montreal model acts as a handle.

We continue with the Argel model, whose structure includes the handle, as we can see in this kitchen from our distributor CDC Interiorismo:

Finally, we would like to take a look at the Padova model, which we offer in three varieties depending on the type of opening: without handle, with J profile or Gradoaccording to the type of opening: without handle, with J profile or Grado, which have a 35º chamfer as a handle in the upper rear part.

Any of the walnut models can be varnished in natural or Nature Matt finish.

    Oak

From walnut we move on to oak, a very resistant and easy to maintain wood very resistant and easy to maintain that will remain as good as the first day for a long time.

    Nivel 2 Muebles

We have a wide range of solid oak doors, with different frame and moulding designs, which can be varnished in different tones (Natural, three varieties of Walnut and Matt Candle):

It should be noted that, in addition to the aesthetic aspect, the Habana, Orly and Quebec models have a handle integrated into the design.

Many of these doors can be lacquered at lacquered instead of varnished, either with Snow or Matt lacquer.

The Snow lacquer lacquer has the particularity of covering both the grain and the pore of the wood, giving a completely smooth and uniform finish, and it comes in different colours:

The oak models that can be treated with Snow lacquer are: Aviano, Canada, Havana, Leon, Prague, Quebec, Vera and Vienna.

On the other hand, the matt lacquer is a very interesting finish, as it allows the grain of the oak to show through, respecting its organic and natural appearance. And the best thing is that you can choose any colour from the R.A.L. range!
