In the world of interior design, wood has always been a recurring material. It is capable of providing warmth, elegance and an unequalled connection with nature, while at the same time being a resistant and durable material.

In the case of dark wood, these characteristics are combined with sophistication and an overwhelming personality. Although it could be thought that this material detracts from the brightness, well combined it can add a visual counterpoint that enhances other elements and textures.

do you want to try it? Then read on and you will discover three projects from our distributors where dark wood transforms a kitchen into the true heart of the home.

    HM Carpinteros

    Natural elegance and refined lines

We start with a project signed by our distributor HM Carpinteros.

Here, dark wood has been used in the wall units and in a spectacular floor-to-ceiling storage area; in which the fridge and the oven and microwave have been integrated into a solid and enveloping base for the whole.

The central area is dominated by an island with a worktop in a white marble effect finish that contrasts with the dark surroundings generated by the wood and brings a vital luminosity to the space.

Here we find the cooking area and it also functions as a bar with wicker-backed stools, inviting interaction and enjoyment with family or friends; making the kitchen a real meeting point.

The integrated appliances and discreet handles lie at the heart of the visual cleanliness, while strategically placed lighting enhances the textures and colours, creating an atmosphere that is both welcoming and functional at the same time.

    Apunto Reforms

    Light and textures

Our distributor Apunto Reformas signs the second project we want to share with you.

In this kitchen, dark wood is used to frame and give personality to the spaces, creating a visual thread that unifies the different areas of the kitchen.

Specifically, it has been used to create a large storage area, with floor-to-ceiling units in which most of the kitchen appliances have also been installed, such as the fridge (integrated into the furniture), the oven, the microwave and a wine cooler.

The rest of the furniture has been finished in a neutral and light tone, reflecting the light and visually expanding the space.

To this contrast of tones we must add a texture: that of the worktop that covers the impressive central island in shades of green and which serves as both a work surface and a dining area.

    Apunto Reformas

    Authenticity and character

To close our selection, we return to the Apunto Reformas studio to discover a kitchen in which wood is the real protagonist.

In this project we have used our model Montreal has been used in all the furniture. This model is made of walnut wood, with a thin frame in its contour and the particularity of a slight recess in the upper part that serves as a handle.

To visually lighten the design, our distributor has opted for a material in light tones whose texture imitates stone for the worktop, cladding and kitchen island.

The result of this dialogue of materials is a kitchen with a classic spirit but completely updated: the key to a design that stands the test of time and fashions.
