Wood, fronts with mouldings, antique elements recovered, natural fibres... Yes, it's about time we talked about rustic kitchens in our blog and the time has finally come.
This article is for all those people who think that everything has been said and/or invented about rustic kitchens. We are going to focus on three projects by three of our distributors that are full of personality and ingenuity when it comes to design.
do you think rustic kitchens are a thing of the past? Come in and read, we are going to convince you otherwise.
Cuisines etc
Cosy and charming
We can't think of any other words to describe this kitchen from our French distributor Cuisines etc.
Everything in this project brings back the air of another era: from the floor made of small earthenware tiles to the Provençal-style dining room chairs and the tile cladding.
And of course, the use of colour and the relief of the kitchen furniture. This is our Lille model, lacquered in a matt blue that reminds us of old kitchens.
It is precisely in the furniture where nostalgia meets the contemporary. Despite the classic style of its fronts, this furniture is designed following the same ergonomic concepts as the rest of our catalogue: total extraction of drawers, interior organisation accessories, concept 80..
Pero como no es solamente la función lo que cuenta, esta “modernidad” también se ve reflejada en otros elementos, como los tiradores, pequeños y de acero inoxidable; y la encimera, cuyo grosor nos trae de vuelta al presente.
NM Cuines
Rustic and minimalist
We continue with what is probably the greatest expert in rustic environments among our more than 300 distributors. We are talking, of course, about NM Cuines; whose projects speak for themselves of his mastery in this field.
For example, the example we bring you today. The room dedicated to the kitchen has two elements with great prominence. On the one hand, the impressive stone walls that make up the entire house. On the other, the spectacular ceiling with exposed wooden beams.
The space itself makes clear its rural and rustic character, so our distributor opted for an aesthetic solution that we found very interesting: to create a minimalist kitchen concept.
NM Cuines opted for white furniture and worktops that would provide luminosity and maximise natural light; and free of handles and free of ornaments that could compete for visual attention with the structural elements of the room.
The key to making these two styles, at first glance so opposed, fit together perfectly is the small details in the wood effect finish of the bar on the island and the shelving integrated into the wall units.
LG Agencement
Country elegance
The third and last project takes us back to France, where we find this spectacular open concept kitchen from our distributor LG Agencement.
It is a room with an ambience that fluctuates between a classic and a more rustic style, as some of the elements we will see below show.
The base of this kitchen is our Aviano model, made with a wooden frame and lacquered in greyish blue; combined with our Amazonas laminate model. To reduce the visual weight of the furniture, stainless steel handles have been added to the doors and drawers.
And also, some doors with glass, such as the spectacular glass cabinet of the floor-to-ceiling furniture. This is one of the elements that brings us that more rustic spirit we spoke about before, as it reminds us of the old cupboards.
The other element to highlight is the decorative bell in wood, which emulates the style of the country house bells.
Finally, we would like to take a look at a small detail that may go unnoticed but that gives a rustic and elegant character to the whole: the supports on which the island worktop rests. Don't you just love them?
